Jennifer Garner lets out her frustration boxing as Ben Affleck’s ex films new thriller in LA

Jennifer Garner was spotted boxing on the season two set of The Last Thing He Told Me in Los Angeles this week.

The 52-year-old actress — who sparked engagement rumors in October — wore a black tank top, navy blue leggings, and red boxing gloves while filming near the beach.

Garner’s lustrous brunette locks were pulled into a high ponytail with a thin black headband and she wore a full face of makeup.

The mother-of-three, who shares her brood with ex-husband Ben Affleck, rounded out the athletic look with a navy pair of New Balance sneakers.

Jennifer first appeared in the Reese Witherspoon-produced thriller series in April 2023.

The Apple TV+ series is based on Laura Dave’s best-selling novel of the same name.

Season two, which will follow the upcoming literary sequel, was announced this past March.

Dave’s latest book will arrive in 2025, before the show makes its return, according to a report from THR.

In addition to Jennifer, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Angourie Rice and David Morse will return for the second installment.

When the continuation of the series — which was originally intended to be limited — was announced, Garner shared a statement about her excitement.

‘Like so many people, I fell for Hannah on page one of Laura Dave’s gripping novel,’ she shared.

The star, who also serves as an executive producer, added, ‘The move to actor and producer from reader and super fan was delicious — and made even sweeter by collaborating with Laura, Josh [Singer], Reese and everyone at Hello Sunshine, as well as the amazing teams at Apple and 20th.’

‘Being part of this group, not to mention part of such a stellar cast, was a career highlight for me. I’m thrilled to get to tell more of Hannah’s story — I couldn’t have said yes more quickly to season two!’ the Alias alum gushed.

And finally, she said, ‘These characters and their story mean so much to me, as I know they do to the many who have championed our show; we’re excited to give audiences even more with this next chapter.’

Garner’s starring role was initially meant to go to Julia Roberts.

When a scheduling conflict kept the Stepmom star from joining the drama, the 13 Going On 30 actress stepped in, convincing production she was the right fit.

In 2023, Jennifer told the Hollywood Reporter, ‘I’m not like Hannah, my character, but I felt like I needed to play her — like there were things in my life that I could play out through her.’

She explained, ‘I wanted to check out what it would be like to be more still, more calm, less extra than I am naturally.

‘I didn’t see myself as someone who would be considered for the role, and so sometimes you just have to take matters into your own hands.’
