Temu urges shoppers to ‘destroy’ glow-in-the-dark hoodies after child suffers serious injuries

A number of glow-in-the-dark children’s hoodies sold on online retail marketplace Temu have been recalled over fears they could catch on fire.

The hoodies were sold across Australia online between October last year and March, with Product Safety Australia reporting a child has already been injured.

The recall notice said the hoodies don’t come with a mandatory warning label and pose a serious burn risk to children when exposed to heat or a flame source.

‘An incident has occurred resulting in serious injuries to a child,’ it read. 

Consumers were warned to stop using the hoodies and keep them away from children.

Temu has also urged customers to destroy or dispose of the jumpers.

‘Consumers will receive a full refund from Temu on behalf of the trader Sunshine Towels,’ the recall notified. 

The hoodies recalled come in four colours and styles: Pink Rainbow Unicorn, Purple Rainbow Unicorn, Blue Dinosaur and Space Planet.
