Revealed: The Melbourne bar that was first stop for celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay during trip Down Under

Gordon Ramsay landed in Australia this week and he headed straight to one of his favourite bars.

The British celebrity chef was stopped out at Bar Bambi in Melbourne on Friday night, sipping a drink at the trendy late night hot spot.

In footage shared by the establishment, the 57-year-old took a seat at a private booth with fellow A-list chefs Andrew McDonnell and Matt Moran.

Gordon enjoyed what looked like a gin and tonic as he chatted with the TV stars in the celebrity hang out spot.

Bar Bambi offers delectable Italian food as well as high end cocktails and is known for a lively atmosphere.

Ramsay was in Australia earlier this year launching new Australian reality series Food Stars, which dropped on Channel Nine on March 26.

The notoriously hot-tempered celebrity chef features alongside Boost Juice founder Janine Allis in the Apprentice-style cooking competition.

Contestants set out to win $250,000 worth of investment to kick start their  businesses.

Ramsay and Allis, 59, are each responsible for a team of hopefuls who pitch their best ‘food and drink’ business ideas to the food gurus.

Each team competes in high-pressure challenges to prove their worth, with the losing side confronted with a brutal takedown by Ramsay and Allis.

A trailer for the show, which is based on a format Ramsay launched in the US last year, shows the famed kitchen master in a competitive mood.

‘I didn’t travel 12 and a-half thousand miles to come second best,’ he exclaims.

Meanwhile in another segment, Allis is seen encouraging her team and telling them: ‘We’ve got to beat frickin’ Ramsay.’

Ramsay’s own Fox company, Studio Ramsay Global, produced the show in partnership with Endemol Shine Australia.

This time, Ramsay is understood to be filming for MasterChef USA and MasterChef Australia.

The Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares star is expected to remain in the country until December.
