Nova radio host Tim Blackwell has revealed the most ‘intimidating’ stars he has ever met throughout his decades long showbusiness career.
The drive show star, 43, admitted on Sunday he felt very nervous meeting Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age and Robert Smith from The Cure.
He interviewed the former ‘backstage at a show in Brisbane’ and confessed he was intimidated by the rocker’s towering 6’4″ height, reported News.com.au.
‘I interviewed [Josh, 51] backstage at a show in Brisbane and he was walking around with a bottle of Jägermeister in his hand, just swigging from the bottle,’ Tim said.
‘That was pretty hardcore. And then I got to meet Robert Smith from The Cure and just visually, he is very intimidating.
‘He rocks the makeup and he’s just kind of got that punk rock attitude. I said a few words to him and he was very, very softly spoken and very straight to the point.’

Despite being intimidated by Robert’s appearance at first, Tim said his nerves were eased when he saw the British punk rocker, 65, attempt to make a toasted sandwich.
The radio personality, who is set to be the host of this year’s ARIAs, said watching Robert make a sandwich made him realise the rocker was ‘just one of us’.
Tim added that it was ‘quite a cute moment’.
It comes after the Nova FM star was named as the host for the 2024 ARIA Awards, which will take place on November 20 at Sydney’s iconic Hordern Pavilion.
The popular radio presenter will be joined by co-hosts Bridget Hustwaite, Latifa Tee, Christian Wilkins, and Rhys Nicholson.
Tim, a mainstay on Nova’s drive-time show Ricki-Lee, Tim, and Joel, has been one of Australia’s top radio personalities since 2001.
Known for his charismatic style, he’s excited to bring his energy to the ARIAs stage.
Reflecting on the role, Tim said: ‘The ARIA Awards represent the pinnacle of Australia’s music industry.’
