Profits slump: Asos chief exec Jose Antonio Ramos Calamonte saw his pay jump by almost 44% last year
The boss of Asos saw his pay jump by almost 44 per cent last year despite widening losses.
The London-listed online fashion giant’s latest annual report showed CEO Jose Antonio Ramos Calamonte received £1.17million for the year to September 1.
This represents a 43.9 per cent increase on the £814,858 he was paid a year earlier. The increase was due to more than £376,000 in bonus payments. Earlier this month, Asos revealed it had slumped deeper into the red with
pre-tax losses of £379.3million for the year to September 1, against losses of £296.7million the previous year.
Sales tumbled 16 per cent to £2.9billion over the year, with a heavier fall than previous forecasts.
