Fans go wild for new Martin Scorsese series: ‘I’ve got goosebumps’

Fans online are going wild over a new docudrama from legendary director Martin Scorsese.

Martin Scorsese Presents: The Saints is currently streaming on Fox Nation and viewers can’t get enough of the program so far.

‘We never asked for this, but this is what we all needed in these times,’ one viewer gushed.

‘The Saints and their lives are what great movies should be written about! They are the true heroes in our world,’ another wrote.

‘It looks edifying and not woke. Therefore, I’ll give it a chance and watch it,’ one said after watching the preview.

‘This is excellent,’ another added, while someone else exclaimed, ‘Saw the first episode – so amazing!’ and another wrote, ‘I’ve got goosebumps.’

Fans are going wild over a new docudrama from legendary director Martin Scorsese about the lives of Catholic saints

According to Fox Nation, the eight-part series explores the lives and legacy of various saints, including Joan of Arc, John the Baptist, and Mary Magdalene.

Discussing his decision to partner with Fox Nation instead of a more liberal, Hollywood network, Scorsese told the Associated Press that the conservative streamer fully supported his passion project from the beginning.

‘[Fox Nation] went with the scripts. They went with the shoot. They went with the cuts,’ he explained.

‘Now what I think is: “Do we take these thoughts or expressions and only express them to people who agree with us?” It’s not going to do us any good. I’m talking about keeping an open mind.’

The Goodfellas director said that the next film he’d like to make was The Life of Jesus.

‘The filmmaking comes from God. It comes from a gift. And that gift is also involved with an energy or a need to tell stories,’ he shared.

‘As a storyteller, somehow there’s a grace that’s been given to me that’s made me obsessive about that.

‘The grace has been through me having that ability but also to fight over the years to create these films. Because each one is a fight. Sometimes you trip, you fall, you hit the canvas, can’t get up. You crawl over bleeding and knocked around. They throw some water on you and somehow you make it through. Then you go to another.’

Last month, the legendary filmmaker assured fans that he had no plans to retire any time soon.

Scorsese, who will turn 82 on November 17, said that he still hoped to complete films he had in development during a press conference at the Museum of Cinema in Turin, Italy, in October.

‘I’m not saying goodbye to cinema at all,’ he said, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Academy Award winner — who was accompanied by his aspiring filmmaker daughter Francesca Scorsese — was being honored with the museum’s Stella della Mole lifetime achievement award.

‘I still have more films to make, and I hope God gives me the strength to make them,’ he continued.
