‘I never expected to get this job. I hope it continues a bit longer but mornings are a hard slog and I don’t know what the future holds.’

Earlier this month, The Daily Telegraph claimed that Samantha is being ‘eyed’ as a potential host for a big-budget new breakfast show on Network Ten.

The household name, who has hosted Sunrise since 2013, is reportedly being considered as part of ‘secret plans’ for Ten to win breakfast ratings with a new morning show in 2018.

A source claimed to News Corp: ‘Samantha’s five year contract with Seven is due to expire at the end of the year, making her ripe for poaching by Ten.

‘All CBS (who have purchased Ten) want is Sam, they want a familiar face, someone who is already a fixture on morning television, and believe she’s the natural choice to lure viewers.’

Samantha signed on as host of Sunrise in 2013 and replaced Melissa Doyle amid slipping ratings.
