The police department noted on Facebook: ‘Although Officer Eng was not the one dispatched, he knew he was closer and headed that way.’

Eng, 46, found baby Bella in the arms of her mother, Tina Adkins.

He performed compressions on Bella for about one minute before she began to cry – a sign of life.

She was then taken to a hospital, where doctors said Eng had saved her life.

‘I just took a deep breath and did what I was trained to do,’ Eng told ABC News.

He presented the girl with a toddler’s onesie emblazoned with the department’s logo.
