Lush releases a giant bath bomb that weighs two pounds

Social media fans have gone gaga over yet another sold-out beauty product – this time in the form of an enormous, over-the-top two-pound bath bomb that took Twitter by storm, and then promptly sold out just hours after its release.

Created by popular beauty brand Lush the Giant Golden Wonder bath bomb is one of the biggest items ever to be released by the company.

Weighing in at a hefty two pounds, the bath bomb was designed to be used all at once, and eclipses Lush’s regular bath bombs that tend to weigh around seven ounces.

Initially released online on December 2nd, the limited edition product sold out almost immediately, leaving several fans bitterly disappointed.

However, the Giant Golden Wonder Bath Bomb will be making its way to select stores around the US on December 15th. It costs $19.95.

Featuring a concealed turquoise blue block beneath its shimmering gold outer layer, the Giant Golden Wonder has been designed to turn the tub shades of gold, blue, orange and pink, and is described as having a ‘champagne’ scent.

The brand also claim it takes three days to assemble.

‘Drop this oversized fizzer into the tub for the most luxurious soak of the season: zesty lime and orange oils meet festive cognac oil to create the scent of celebration, while plumes of plastic-free shimmer and hidden colors reveal themselves in mesmerizing swirls,’ Lush wrote on its website.

And fans of the brand have been quick to voice their excitement over the new release, taking to social media in their thousands to comment on a video posted on the Lush Instagram page.

While @sophie_bazette typed: ‘This has definitely made my Christmas list! @lushcosmetics what’s the gold stuff sprayed on it at the end? It’s sooo pretty’.

For @lexiguay, she couldn’t wait to share the news with her friend @bbyraay, writing: ‘are you kidding me 🙁 that’s a pregnant woman’s dream for a bath’.

However this isn’t the only over-sized bath bomb on the market – Dollar Bath Bombs recently created a giant bath bomb in the shape of a fairy tale castle with a sweet cotton-candy scent. But this particular bath bomb can’t really be dropped in with one hand, since the enormous accessory weighs over five pounds.

The special bath bomb isn’t for sale — yet. But in October, the website was giving away two a day to contest winners.

Since then, it’s captured the attention of the internet, which could prompt Dollar Bath Bombs to bring it back.

The online store mixed pink, blue, and purple dyes in with its foaming ingredients before stuffing them all into a castle mold.

‘If this doesn’t make you feel like royalty, what will?’ they ask in a video, which also includes a demonstration of the bath bomb being used.

Once images and video of the bath bomb in action starting circulating online, women went wild for it.

‘Oh. My. God. That is amazing,’ wrote one Twitter user. ‘Someone needs to throw a few of these into a swimming pool, and record it!’ suggested another.

While several skeptics speculated that so much dye in the bath might be a fast track to getting a UTI — one joked that she ‘got a yeast infection just watching this monstrosity’ — plenty of fans were quite impressed, leaving strings of heart-eyes emojis.

Though Dollar Bath Bombs originally created the castle just for contest winners, they’ve said that they may start selling it if demand is high enough.

‘If we get enough people asking us to, we will definitely consider it!’ they wrote on Facebook, responding to pleading from customers.

‘Please sell this!!!’ wrote one fan. ‘I would buy like 10 of them! Cotton candy is my favorite scent and I love bath bombs. These are SO amazing! I NEED this in my life!’

‘I wish I would have won, pleaseeee sell some of these [sic],’ said another, while a few suggested the site also create miniature versions of the castle.
