Horror as woman dies after found with burns in the stairwell of a unit block in Sydney

A woman has died after emergency services found her in a stairwell with burns to her body.

Emergency services found the woman, 44, about 3pm on Monday after being called to a unit complex on Vicliffe Ave in Campsie in Sydney’s south-west.

After being treated for burns at the scene, the woman was transported to Concord Hospital where she died later that day.

The woman is yet to be formally identified.

Campsie Police Area Command has established a crime scene and is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
