Cynthia Erivo does spot-on impression of Wicked co-star Ariana Grande turning the tables on the pop singer

Ariana Grande may be the queen of impressions, but her Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo could be giving her a bit of competition.

Erivo, 37, who previously spoke about her ‘trepidation’ about coming out as queer, delivered a spot on impersonation of the Grammy winner during an ‘Agree to Disagree’ interview with LadBible.

When the pair were asked whether they agreed with the statement ‘I can do an impression of the person opposite me better than they can do an impression of me,’ both Grande, 31, and Erivo moved their water glasses to a spot on the table with the words ‘Strongly Disagree’ were written.

‘I think you underestimate your impersonation abilities,’ the Thank U, Next singer told her pal.

‘I cannot’, said Erivo. ‘I think you underestimate them,’ re-stated Grande.

‘I think you underestimate them,’ Erivo repeated in a precise impersonation of her friend.

‘See what I’m saying,’ Grande said to the interviewer, then turning to Erivo, said, ‘there you go.’

‘Is that good?’ asked the Tony winner. ‘Yeah, that was great!’ declared Grande. ‘That was beautiful.’

‘Beautiful,’ Erivo repeated in her best Ariana voice.

The Into You artist continued, ‘She has secret impersonations, and she’s like “I don’t do impersonations, that’s not my thing,” and then she’ll drop in to like the best impersonation I’ve ever heard.’

‘All will be revealed on your SNL,’ Grande told the Drama Desk Award winner.

Grande impersonated several people during her own Saturday Night Live episode, including one of actress Jennifer Coolidge.

‘Fine,’ Erivo conceded. ‘Mark my words,’ Grande said.

‘Your impersonations are spot on, ‘ Erivo complemented her co-star.  ‘Thank you,’ she said.
