Ruth Langsford sports a fresh blow-dry as she arrives at Heathrow to jet off to Australia to make her I’m A Celebrity debut

Ruth Langsford sported a fresh blow-dry and bronzed tan as she arrived at Heathrow Airport on Wednesday, ready for her flight to Australia. 

The Loose Women presenter, 64, is jetting off to appear on I’m A Celebrity’s spin-off show Unpacked as a guest. 

Ruth is close to campmate Jane Moore and also works with GK Barry on the daytime chat show, so can provide hosts Joel Dommett and Sam Thompson with a closer insight into how they are getting on in camp.  

The television personality hadn’t packed lightly for her trip as she arrived at the departure terminal with two suitcases and a large holdall. 

While Ruth sported glamorous hair and make-up, she opted for comfort with a black zip-up top, joggers and trainers for the long-haul flight.

Ruth took to Instagram on Tuesday to share that she was busy packing her case before flying to Oz. 

A source revealed to The Sun earlier this month that the opportunity to join the spin-off show had been a welcome distraction for Ruth during a challenging year. 

They said: ‘It’s been a tough year for Ruth and she’s been putting her best foot forward, she’s thrilled to have been asked to appear on this the spin off show and fly to Australia ahead of Christmas.

The insider added that Ruth is eager to support Jane, saying: ‘She’s rooting for Jane and can’t wait to give her opinion on how she is getting on.

‘The production team are particularly excited they have landed Ruth to join them as they think she’ll be amazing and give the new format a boost.’

Ruth’s involvement is expected to add star power to the revamped spin-off as she joins the production in Australia ahead of the festive season.

The update came after Ruth appeared to take a subtle dig at her ex Eamonn Holmes on social media on Sunday.

She announced her split from the broadcaster, also 64, in June after 14 years of marriage and 27 years together.
