Australia’s east coast has been told to brace for more bad weather, with high tides, hazardous surf and storm warnings on the way.
Polluted water continues to be a problem in Melbourne after the city was hit with rain storms and flooding over the weekend.
Flood warnings have been released for the New South Wales south coast, and for the east coast of Tasmania.
High tides saw flooding at the Sydney Botanical Gardens on Tuesday, and at Bayview on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, after a rainy Monday in the city.

‘As that low trough moves south we are expecting wet weather and flood warnings in Tasmania, and lingering showers in New South Wales and Victoria.
‘There are storm warnings for the coast in Queensland, between Gladstone and Bundaberg.’
The Bureau of Meterology has warned of damaging winds and large hailstones in the area, and warned people to take precautions.

Generally cool conditions will be seen across much of southern Australia, and waterways in Port Phillip Bay remain polluted from heavy rain.
Water quality was rated as poor at 36 beaches in the area, and on four Yarra River locations by EPA Victoria, which warned people to avoid contact.
In Victoria there are flood warnings for the Kiewa River, the Seven and Castle Creeks, the Bunyip River, Dandenong Creek, the Mitchell River and the Yarra River
Similar warnings have been released for rivers in Tasmania, including the Derwent, the River Ouse and the River Clyde, along with flood warnings for the eastern half of the state.
In New South Wales heavy rain is forecast for the mid- north coast, especially around Kempsey, Nambucca Heads and Macksville.

Heavy rain could be seen south of Brisbane on Tuesday, with storm warnings for the Queensland coast between Gladstone and Bundaberg
Dangerous surf and large swells could prove dangerous in other parts of the state, with warnings released for the Hunter Coast, Sydney Coast, Illawarra Coast, Batemans Coast and Eden Coast.
The broad area of low pressure lying just off the New South Wales coast is expected to bring periods of heavy rain and abnormally high tides.
A Severe Weather Warning for heavy rainfall is in place for parts of the south coast and waterways in the St Georges Basin.
The effects of high tides could be seen in Sydney on Tuesday, with water flowing in the Botanical Gardens from the harbour, and a jetty submerged at Bayview.
