Katie Holmes keeps warm in a fuzzy brown teddy coat on solo outing in New York City

Katie Holmes bundled up for the frigid weather in New York City on Sunday.

The Dawson’s Creek star, 45, was seen walking around Manhattan in a black teddy coat that resembled the kind of coat Paddington Bear wears.

The chocolate brown garment had a hood that was lined in rich light brown and toggle-style closures down the front.

The coat extended to a few inches above Katie’s ankles and gave a glimpse of the white skirt she wore underneath.

A black turtleneck could be seen through the neckline of Katie’s coat.

She wore her hair pulled back in a sleek ponytail, added sunglasses to her look and carried a large off-white handbag.

The mom of Suri Cruise, 18, who she shares with ex-husband Tom Cruise, 62, just celebrated Thanksgiving with her only child who was home from college for the holiday.

Suri is a freshman at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

In August, ahead of Suri’s departure for college, Holmes made a rare comment about her daughter officially starting her university studies and moving to Pennsylvania.

During an interview with Town & Country the Batman Begins actress expressed, ‘I’m proud of my daughter. Of course, I will miss the close proximity, but I’m really proud of her and I’m happy.’

‘I remember being this age, this time of beginnings. It’s exciting to learn about yourself, and I loved that time, so it makes me happy to think about it like that.’

And in June of this year, Suri notably dropped the last name of Cruise and changed it to Noelle – which is her mother’s middle name.

The Top Gun star has not been a part of Suri’s life since she was about six years old, though, per the divorce agreement between him and Katie, he is paying for Suri’s $65,000 per year college tuition as well as her medical and dental insurance.

Last week, Katie looked incredibly youthful as she made an appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.

She discussed her role of Mrs. Webb in the Broadway show – and revealed what she did when she forgot her line during one of the performances.

‘I was in the middle of a scene and I just…I said the whole line except the last word and I couldn’t, I couldn’t remember it.’

‘I made something up, but it didn’t make sense and then I got so red, because Jim Parsons is on stage most of the time because he’s the stage manager. I go, “Oh my God. Jim knows, he’s watching,”‘ the star recalled.

‘So I get red, real fast and I got flustered, so I just said my lines so fast after that and got off stage,’ Holmes explained.

However, she remembered, ‘Jim gave me a hug after. He was like, “I’ve never seen anyone say their lines so fast and remove themselves!”‘
