Misty Copeland gets leggy as she rocks thigh-high skirt slit at Gotham Awards

Misty Copeland turned heads on Monday evening as she attended the 34th Annual Gotham Awards in New York City.

The 42-year-old ballerina – who recently rubbed shoulders with Nicole Scherzinger — modeled a champagne-colored Contessa Mills co-ord that included a $1,295 cropped blazer and $995 skirt.

The belted skirt boasted a thigh-high slit on one side and both pieces were designed with raw-edge trim.

Copeland pulled her dark hair into a slick and sleek high ponytail and accented her look with gold jewelry.

The fashionista wore chunky, medium-sized hoop earrings and a gold necklace with glittering diamond embellishments.

The professional dancer carried a small gold handbag and matching metallic gold pointy-toe heels as she posed on the red carpet.

At one point Copeland took the stage alongside Ryan Destiny, who wore a fitted gold dress.

The Gotham Awards have incorporated gender-neutral categories since 2021.

This year Nicole Kidman was nominated for Outstanding Lead Performance in Babygirl.

She went up against an impressive lineup of nominees that included Pamela Anderson in The Last Showgirl, Demi Moore in The Substance.

There was also Colman Domingo in Sing Sing, Saoirse Ronan in The Outrun, and Justice Smith in I Saw The TV Glow.

Keith Kupferer was nominated for Ghostlight, Mikey Madison for Anora, and Marianne Jean-Baptiste for Hard Truths.

The award went to Domingo, 55.

The Gotham Awards marked the official kickoff of the 2024-2025 awards season.

This year’s event introduced two new competitive categories: Best Director and the revival of the Breakthrough Performer Award.

The nominations highlighted a wide range of independent films, with Anora leading the pack with four nominations.

Meanwhile, I Saw the TV Glow and Nickel Boys had three nominations each.

Special tribute awards were presented to several industry megastars, including Denis Villeneuve, who accepted the Director Tribute for Dune: Part Two and Angelina Jolie, who received the Performer Tribute for her role as opera singer Maria Callas in Maria.

The awards, presented by the Gotham Film & Media Institute, celebrate independent film and media creators, highlighting both emerging and established talent.
