Aaron Rodgers Netflix series drops Dec 17 as cameras follow ayahuasca trips, RFK Jr visits and Jets nightmare

A ‘behind the curtain’ look at Aaron Rodgers’ remarkable life is set to premiere on Netflix on December 17.

A sneak preview of the three-part series, entitled Enigma, aired during ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ on ESPN on Tuesday – much to Rodgers’ surprise’.

‘Oh s*** do you really,’ the quarterback said live on air as the two-minute clip began. It promised fans a behind-the-scenes look at Rodgers’ nightmare with the New York Jets.

But the trailer also provided a glimpse into the quarterback’s antics off the pitch, including his friendship with Robert F. Kennedy Jr and his experimentation with ayahuasca.

‘I live between two worlds of the extroverted and an introverted lover of silence,’ Rodgers could be heard saying over the teaser video. 

‘I’m trying to beat back Father Time and the expectations,’ the 40-year-old says before a montage of his career plays.  

It shows the quarterback clashing with opponents and even throwing a tantrum on the sidelines while with the Green Bay Packers, where he won four MVP awards.  

‘Aaron Rodgers ain’t for everybody,’ Stephen A. Smith is heard saying over the footage, before the trailer turns to his contentious political beliefs. 

What follows is a reel of news coverage detailing Rodgers’ ‘controversial and crazy conspiracy theories’, including his ‘anti-vaxxer’ stance.

‘Losing friendships, (losing) family, it was heartbreaking,’ Rodgers tells the camera before the clip moves on to his move to New York.

Back on September 11, 2023, Rodgers tore his Achilles four snaps into his Jets debut against the Buffalo Bills and the trailer included behind-the-scenes footage of the quarterback in the hospital.

The quarterback can be seen with his head in his hands and his left leg in a cast. The series will also detail his long journey back to the field this season.

‘I’m coming back to do it all,’ he says, before asking doctors: ‘What’s the risk in playing?’

‘People are getting to see behind the curtain,’ the 40-year-old says before footage shows him out with Donald Trump’s incoming health secretary, Robert F Kennedy Jr.

‘Have you thought about going into politics?’ Kennedy asks Rodgers, who revealed he turned down the chance to be the 70-year-old’s vice presidential nominee in order to keep playing.
