Micah Parsons melted down after a heartbreaking finish to the Cowboys-Bengals game on Monday night, and fans were quick to pile onto the edge rusher with the same mocking message after.
With two minutes left in the game and the score tied 20-20, the Bengals lined up to punt on fourth down from their own 29.
And Dallas looked set to take over in Cincy territory after Nick Vigil blocked the punt – only for his teammate Amani Oruwariye to muff the recovery and hand possession back to the visitors when he tried to catch it.
The mistake proved costly as Joe Burrow connected with Ja’Marr Chase for a game-winning 40-yard touchdown a minute later, and Parsons would subsequently leave the field before time expired following a Dallas turnover on downs.
Many fans made the same joke about the 25-year-old, who hosts ‘The Edge’ podcast during the week.
‘Micah Parsons about to have an EMERGENCY PODCAST from the locker room,’ one joked on X.
The Cowboys’ Micah Parsons walked off of the field on Monday night before time expired
Parsons was beside himself on the sideline as the Cowboys fell to 5-8 on the year
‘Micah Parsons walking off the field like a sore loser. Must’ve been in hurry to record his next episode of his podcast,’ another said.
A third added, ‘Micah Parsons is so dramatic man lol. He had to stomp off so he could be ready to talk about it on his podcast tomorrow.
And content creator Kofie hilariously shared a photo of Draymond Green recording his own podcast, with the caption: ‘Micah Parsons in 5 minutes.’
Former NFL receiver Antonio Brown even compared the moment to his infamous, shirtless exit from the league in 2022.
On Monday, there were over 10 seconds remaining in the game when Parsons was walking off, as his teammates and the Bengals shook hands following the final kneel-down.
He was previously seen to be extremely upset on the sideline and that mood continued into his post-game availability.
‘I don’t know, it seem like we’re paying a due that’s not fair,’ he told reporters, after Dallas fell to 5-8 on the year. ‘I don’t know if it’s bad luck, karma – but in terms of the work ethic, everyone’s working so hard.’
Parsons also got emotional talking about teammate DeMarvion Overshown, who suffered what is believed to be a serious knee injury in the game.
‘God, I cried,’ Parsons said. ‘It’s like my little bro, bro. Just to understand what he’s going to have to go through, and to be there for him, physically, mentally, it’s just so challenging because he’s so talented. The year he was having, I really don’t think that straight.’
It’s been a miserable year for the Cowboys, who lost quarterback Dak Prescott to injury after just eight games and are now a major longshot for the playoffs with just four games to play.
