An influencer has claimed that her friends have decided against inviting her to their annual Christmas celebration because she hasn’t got a plus one and will ‘tempt their husbands and boyfriends’.
With nearly one million followers on social media, Marina Smith, 34, from São Paulo, Brazil, isn’t low on male attention.
But the model believes this is why her friends have left her out of their festive dinner plans.
‘I’ve been banned from Christmas dinner because the women think I’ll steal their men,’ Marina said.
‘They’re worried I might tempt their husbands and boyfriends.’
And it was one of her friend’s boyfriends who informed the former Miss BumBum winner that she would not be invited.
Marina said: ‘The boyfriend of one of my friends told me that a WhatsApp group had been created and I wasn’t in it.
‘He said that in the group chat, my friends were discussing their concerns about my presence at the dinner. Even considering the possibility of not inviting me due to the fear that my beauty and single status would attract unwanted attention from their husbands and boyfriends.’

Speaking of her tumultuous love life, Marina, who been has single since the beginning of 2024, said: ‘My last relationship didn’t end well, after the breakup, my ex-boyfriend even charged me for a café bill we shared during the relationship.
‘He always liked to split everything.
‘Sharing expenses wasn’t a problem, but it reached a point where it became exhausting so it only lasted eight months.’
The 34-year-old model added: ‘I’m very selective about the men I get involved with.
‘I’m not in a rush, and I’m not a needy woman.’
But that doesn’t stop Marina from feeling let down by her friends.
She said: ‘Being single already limits my outings and trips with friends, because they go out with their partners now.
‘But now me being single and beautiful is an insecurity for them!’

‘It’s with the men who think I am “too beautiful to be real”.’
The model revealed she intends to ‘confront’ her friends and ‘tell them a few truths’.
Firstly, that she always respects other people’s relationships.
‘I never made advances toward their partners,’ she said.
‘I’m a respectful woman, especially toward their relationships. I think it was jealousy on their part.
‘I used to trust my friends blindly, but apparently, they didn’t trust me.
‘It’s a shame because they’re going to lose the best friend they could have had.’

Marina says she would ‘rather spend Christmas alone at home’
Despite the conflict surrounding her image, Marina claims she will not let this affect her Christmas.
She said: ‘I hope they don’t change their minds and invite me, because the answer is no!
‘I think I would feel out of place, so I’m glad to know this now rather than the day before Christmas.
‘At this point I’d rather spend Christmas alone at home.
‘Yes, I’m a beautiful woman, but that is not a reason for anyone to leave me out.’
