West End theatre star, 64, looks unrecognisable with age-defying visage as she makes her musical comeback – but can YOU guess who she is?

A star of the West End looked unrecognisable as they made their musical comeback  on Tuesday. 

The singer first propelled into the limelight at just 16 years old, after joining Arlene Phillips’ dance troupe Hot Gossip in 1976.

And nearly 50 years on, the music artist showcased her very youthful visage at a press conference to promote her show A Christmas Symphony in Mexico. 

The songstress sported a voluminous blow-dry and a glamorous black dress for the Q and A at the Hotel Presidente Intercontinental ahead of the show on Wednesday. 

Wednesday will be the final show for the star, 64, who has brought the show to 13 cities across the western United States and in Mexico for the first time.

It’s Sarah Brightman!  

Sarah is most-known for her duet with Andrea Bocelli on 1996 hit Time To Say Goodbye, with the song topping the charts all over Europe and becoming an international success selling 12 million copies worldwide. 

Sarah first found fame within the West End and was cast in the 1981 production of Cats: The Musical, where she met her ex-husband Andrew Lloyd Weber.

She went on to star in The Phantom of the Opera, where she originated the role of Christine Daaé.

Prior to her musical comeback, Sarah previously revealed on This Morning she had been training to become a cosmonaut. 

She explained she had travelled to Russia to undergo tests in order to visit the International Space Station.

Speaking of the experience, Sarah explained: ‘It’s incredibly tough, you’d be surprised a lot of people, and a lot of people in showbiz, the entertainment industry, do try for it at NASA but a lot of people don’t go for the tests.

‘You’ve got to remember I’m a child of the 60s, so I saw the first man on the moon, that’s why I was interested in this.

‘When the opportunity came up I actually passed through all the tests, it was serious for me, but it was also a bit of a laugh. I remember thinking, ‘I’m never going to get through this, I left school at 16.’

It was later announced that Sarah had cancelled her trip to the International Space Station, citing family reasons.

Touching on why she never made it to outer space, Sarah added: ‘It was a great and wonderful challenge, but I can’t say why I came out of it because I’ve signed lots of NDAs and, you know, Russia.’
