Manchester United are planning a post-season trip to Malaysia for a big-money tour that could bank the club around £8million, according to reports.
Under current proposals, cash-strapped United would jet out immediately at the end of the campaign and prior to scheduled international fixtures.
The opportunity has been presented by TEG Sports, a global events company based in Australia, in partnership with a local promoter in Malaysia.
The Athletic have claimed that the money-spinning tour could earn United £7.96m, a substantial figure that would help ease their financial headache.
Plans for United to head to Kuala Lumpur were first revealed by the New Straits Times in early December and it is thought that discussions are continuing.
United’s last game of the season will be the final day of the Premier League on May 25. However, the club remain in the FA Cup, with the final scheduled for May 17.

United often jet abroad for pre-season but have typically opted against post-season friendlies
The Europa League final will take place in Spain four days later.
It is common for Premier League sides to head overseas during pre-season but post-season trips are rising in popularity despite coming at the end of a gruelling calendar.
These exhibitions allow clubs to increase their revenue streams and boost their bid to comply with the top-flight’s strict profit and sustainability regulations.
Teams in European competitions must also adhere to UEFA’s Financial Fair Play rules.
This is especially crucial for United, who have carried out a controversial and wide-sweeping cost-cutting strategy under part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
Mass redundancies, which saw 250 jobs brutally slashed, as well as increased ticket prices at Old Trafford and a crackdown on staff expenses have dented morale.
Tottenham and Newcastle met for a post-season friendly earlier this year in front of a capacity crowd at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia.
United are not in action in the Club World Cup but some players could feature in the finals of the UEFA Nations League in early June, leaving them with a shortened break.
Club sources told The Athletic that post-season plans are not yet finalised.
