Travis Hunter has been told he only has himself to blame over criticism over his relationship with fiancee Leanna Lenee.
Former NFL-star-turned-broadcaster Nate Burleson weighed in on the controversy surrounding Lenee and the college football star, who got engaged in February after two years together.
As the Colorado player was presented with his award on stage, fans on social media were critical of his fiancee for not getting out of her seat to applaud him, until head coach Deion Sanders asked her to stand up.
It came a few days after she went viral over her reaction to Hunter taking photos with female fans.
Hunter has spoken out against the ‘haters’ of their relationship but Burleson told TMZ: ‘It’s everybody else’s business because that couple put it out there.’

He added: ‘You can’t complain when people respond. That’s social media. You can’t say “mind your own business” or “keep your opinion to yourself” when you have shared with everybody.’
Social media users took aim at Lenee once more after noticing that she has a dollar sign tattooed on her ring finger.
Hunter, who played both as a cornerback and wide receiver for Colorado, is tipped to be the No 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft.
Burleson sympathizes with the Buffalo star, having dated his now-wife Aloya while playing at the University of Nevada. Back then, he suggested, many assumed she was with him because of his NFL prospects.
‘She was the trophy way before I started chasing them in the NFL. That could be the case in Travis’ relationship. I don’t know,’ Burleson said.
‘All I know is give them both grace. They’re young! They’ll figure it out.’
