Police believe Chloe Mason, who is also known as CeeJay, from Caboolture, north of Brisbane, had been assaulted in the middle of the night and tried to flee down a suburban street when the pair gave chase.
Police attempted to revive the 23-year-old until paramedics attended, but she was declared dead at the scene.
The murder weapon is yet to be recovered and the two mystery men remain on the run. Detectives believe the attack was not random.
Daily Mail Australia can that at the time of her death, Ms Mason was facing a string of charges in the Brisbane Magistrates court and the Supreme court.
A close friend took to social media to pay tribute to her ‘jail sister’, recalling how they would communicate through prison cell vents during evening lockdowns.
‘Rest in peace CeeJay Mason,’ the post began.

Investigators are establishing a taskforce of local and specialist homicide detectives to try and bring the young woman’s family answers.
One witness said they heard, ‘about three or four gunshots and then a little bit of whimpering’.
Residents from another property on the street were taken in for questioning, though detectives maintain they have no confirmed suspects.
‘We have a number of witnesses that are currently assisting us, however, we have no person in custody,’ Detective Inspector David Harbison said.
‘It’s a tragedy to lose such a young life in such a violent manner so we will get to the bottom of it, it’s the best we can do for the family at the moment.’
On Sunday, Ms Mason’s devastated sister launched a fundraiser to share a heartbreaking message.
‘Chloe was chased down by 2 men and fatally shot on the 22nd of December 2024 in Brisbane,’ Hannah McKone posted on GoFundMe.
‘Chloe was only 23 years old.’
‘Being so close to Christmas her family has no savings or financial means to give her a funeral.
‘We are graciously asking for help and support in this. All funds donated will be directly utilised for Chloe’s funeral service.’
