Luke Littler is given a rousing reception for a feat, while Andrew Flintoff hails ‘his finest sporting achievement’ – as pair shine in the Christmas special of iconic Bullseye TV show

Darts sensation Luke Littler and former cricket star Andrew Flintoff both appeared on the Christmas special of iconic TV show Bullseye.

17-year-old Littler, who is currently competing in the World Darts Championship, was given a rousing reception by the crowd for one particular feat.

Flintoff, meanwhile, was left delighted with what he described as his ‘finest sporting achievement’.

Littler was asked by Flintoff if he was aware of how many treble twenties he has hit in his professional career.

The darts star admitted he was uncertain, with Flintoff then informing Littler that he has hit over seven thousand treble twenties, which prompted much applause from the crowd.

Littler was then asked to step up to the oche and, perhaps unsurprisingly, proceeded to hit three treble twenties in quick succession.

Flintoff was then asked to hit the bullseye, with the former England all-rounder stating that doing so would be his finest sporting achievement.

After being given ten seconds to try and hit the bullseye, Flintoff missed his first and second attempts but then managed to hit the target at the third time of asking. 

In December 2022, Flintoff was involved in a crash while filming Top Gear. He was airlifted to hospital, with reports in October 2023 stating that BBC Studios had reached a £9million financial settlement to compensate Flintoff for his injuries.

Littler, meanwhile, burst into tears after beating Ryan Meikle to get his first victory at this year’s World Darts Championship.

Explaining the situation, Littler said: ‘It’s the worst game I’ve played.

‘I’ve never felt anything like that tonight. It was a weird feeling. It’s the biggest stage out there, the last tournament of the calendar year, and I had to somehow get over the line and I’m happy I did.

‘I shouldn’t have won that first set but I did and then you have to switch on from there. That last set, I don’t know where I pulled it from. I drank my water, said to Abi (Davies, his interviewer on stage) I was OK, then as soon as the question came, boom, tears.

‘I was like, ‘What are you doing?’ It was just a bit too much to try to speak on stage after that.

‘Leading up to it, I was fine, the train journey down, practice was going well, even practising on the stage was unbelievable. It was as soon as I heard ‘game on’, my bottom went again. I’m thinking, ‘What are you doing? Just relax.’ That last set, I found it.’
