EXCLUSIVE
A young woman who was chased by two men and shot days before Christmas had already stared down death in 2016 when she was stabbed in the heart.
Chloe Jade Mason, known to those close to her as CeeJay, was found unconscious on Railway Parade in Caboolture in Brisbane’s north just after midnight on Sunday.
The 23-year-old could not be revived and was tragically declared dead at the scene.
Queensland Police are still on the hunt for her callous killers and the murder weapon they used.
Daily Mail Australia can reveal that in 2016 Ms Mason was involved in a stabbing that almost claimed her life.
‘I’m in the [hospital] ward now,’ she shared on social media at the time.
‘Still have 24/7 nurses hanging around me, checking up [and] making sure everything is correct and that nothing is out of place.
‘I have 2 drains in my heart to drain all the blood that’s leaking from the valve that’s been sliced when the knife penetrated my heart 3 cm deep.
‘I am fighting through this with the love and support from my family and friends.’
The shocking revelation comes after it was revealed her former on-again, off-again boyfriend Kane Alexanderson, 18, was himself stabbed to death in 2020 during a knife fight.

The incident involving her former flame happened inside a Brisbane high-rise apartment when Mr Alexanderson, along with eight other men, stormed inside to confront a man watching an Australia Day fireworks display.
An altercation led to Mr Alexanderson being stabbed twice.
In the years following his death, Ms Mason shared regular tributes to him on social media.
‘Your spirit lives on in my soul Kane, I can’t feel you as much any more and you don’t give me signs that your there,’ she wrote in a haunting post on Facebook.
‘I hope you have finally moved on across the other side but never forget it’s never a goodbye always – I’ll see you soon.’
‘Words can’t explain the pain I’m going through, you will forever be a part of my family and my heart,’ she wrote in another post.
Ms Mason was facing a string of offences in the Brisbane Magistrates Court and Queensland Supreme Court when she died.
She had previously been sentenced 18 months in jail after being convicted of drug supply.
In a bizarre coincidence, Mr Alexanderson’s mother had spent time in prison with Ms Mason.
‘They just loved each other. They were beautiful. She wanted to see him again. She definitely missed him,’ she told The Courier Mail after visiting the scene where Ms Mason died.
A former friend paid tribute to her ‘jail sister’ and recalled how they would communicate from prison cell vents during evening lockdowns.
‘Rest in peace, CeeJay Mason,’ she posted.
‘We will all miss you so f***ing much, my jail sister – fly high huni.’
Investigators have established a taskforce of local and specialist homicide detectives to lead the investigation into the tragic death.
Police say at this stage they have yet to locate the murder weapon, but detectives believe it was a targeted attack and say there’s no wider risk to the public.

One witness said they heard ‘about three or four gunshots and then a little bit of whimpering’.
Residents from another property on the street were questioned by police, but detectives maintain they have no confirmed suspects or leads.
‘We have a number of witnesses that are currently assisting us, however, we have no person in custody,’ Detective Inspector David Harbison said.
‘It’s a tragedy to lose such a young life in such a violent manner so we will get to the bottom of it, it’s the best we can do for the family at the moment.’
On Sunday, Ms Mason’s devastated sister launched a fundraiser to share a heartbreaking message.
‘Chloe was chased down by two men and fatally shot on December 22 2024 in Brisbane,’ Hannah McKone posted on GoFundMe.
‘Chloe was only 23 years old.
‘Being so close to Christmas, her family has no savings or financial means to give her a funeral.
‘We are graciously asking for help and support in this. All funds donated will be directly utilised for Chloe’s funeral service.’
Another sister, Danni Mason, remembered Chloe as a ‘daughter, a sister, an aunt and a friend … who was loved by many.
‘This loss has devastated our family and we struggle to come to terms with this so close to the holidays..
‘As sisters we grieve for the things she won’t experience, all the things we aren’t able to share and the memories we won’t make. She was an incredible woman.’
