Travis Hunter’s fiancée makes social media decision amid scrutiny over relationship with Heisman winner

Travis Hunter’s fiancée, Leanna Lenee, has appeared to make a major social media decision amid scrutiny into their relationship.

Fans have criticized Lenee extensively in recent weeks, including after she initially remained sitting as he was awarded the Heisman Trophy.

And after Hunter deleted his own Instagram this week, Lenee appears to have joined him, as her profile is no longer available.

A link to the page comes up with an error message that says ‘Sorry, this page isn’t available.’

Lenee has been targeted online by fans of late, with Hunter establishing himself as one of the best players in the nation and a likely top draft pick in the NFL.

After a game against Oklahoma State, her and Hunter appeared to get into some sort of argument – with Lenee seemingly rebuffing Hunter’s attempt to kiss her on the cheek.

Both Travis Hunter and his partner Leanna Lenee appeared to delete their Instagrams this week

And during the run up to the Heisman ceremony, Lenee appeared angry at Hunter as he took pictures with female fans at a planned event.

Lenee was seen seated just a few feet away from Hunter as he took snaps with a female fan, looking upset before asking him ‘What do you want me to do… I’ll just sit here then.’

Hunter then appears to suggest that she could leave if she felt like it, with the video catching him saying, ‘You could go to the hotel, you can walk around…’

However, Hunter defended Lenee after the incident.

‘When we was sitting down and I was at my pop-up shop, we was talking about my family,’ he said in some sort of online stream.

‘What was they gon’ do while I was in there signing stuff. I had all my family there, and that’s why she said she gon’ stay there, so they can get stuff… [and] have fun there. Some of them wanted to go back to the hotel, some of them didn’t.’

He added: ‘I know what I got, I know my girl. My girl been with me for five years, y’all are just now starting to talk about me and just now starting to be with me.’

Fans also came for Lenee after the incident at the Heisman ceremony.

As Hunter was announced as the winner of the prestigious award, Lenee initially remained sitting while Hunter’s mother and Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders stood up. She briefly stood and gave Hunter a hug after Sanders appeared to tap her, but promptly sat back down as Hunter continued embracing his group.

A video also resurfaced in which Lenee said that Hunter was not her ‘type’ before they had started dating, leading to more vitriol from fans.

Sanders recently defended Hunter before their Colorado face BYU in the Alamo Bowl this weekend.

‘Everything is great, he has the Heisman Trophy at the crib,’ Sanders said, before alluding to his potential as a future NFL player.

‘He’s projected to be the first or second pick, no later than the third. I don’t know where all the bulljunk comes in at. I think it’s all a blessing, the things you may count as stressing is still a blessing.

‘I think he’s heading in the right direction. He loves the game of football. I’m always focused on the positives, not the negatives. It’s so easy to see the negative when the positive is right there in front of you.’

Hunter and Colorado will end their season on Saturday at 7:30pm ET.
