Veteran actor who starred in The Bill dies after surgery

Actor Tony Mathews has died after surgery, it has been confirmed.

The actor was best known for his roles in Inspector Morse, The Bill and Poirot. 

The veteran actor was best known for roles in the likes of The Bill, Inspector Morse and Poirot. 

Tony also starred in The Duellists and played Royston Andrews in The Governor.

An inquest into his death will be held in Kent.
