With one touch to turn and another to finish, it was a fine first Tottenham goal from Fernando Llorente, yet how the entire move started was equally as exquisite.
Harry Winks had the ball in midfield and APOEL, as became an apparent theme throughout this Champions League dead-rubber at Wembley, had 11 men behind the ball.
The 21-year-old thought nothing of it. He cut open the visitors with a beautiful cross-field ball that found Serge Aurier, who in turn crossed for Llorente to score.
Tottenham star Harry Winks helped his side win their final Champions League tie at Wembley
The Champions League agrees with Winks. His performances home and away against Real Madrid proved he can cut it at the highest level.
He did not look out of place on either of those European nights when surrounded by the world’s best and he certainly didn’t here against inferior opponents.
The England international, with a single cap, gave Mauricio Pochettino another glimpse into what he can offer, even if it was against a side sitting third in the Cypriot First Division.
He was not afraid to demand the ball and distribute from tight areas. He showed some physicality against Apoel’s players.
And, of course, it was his pass that led to Llorente’s opener.
For Tottenham, this was little more than a warm-up ahead of Stoke this weekend. At times, it looked like one of their training ground practice matches, particularly in the first half.

The 21-year-old has proven to Mauricio Pochettino that he can play at the top level
Pochettino made nine changes to his team from their 1-1 draw with Watford. He opted to rest Hugo Lloris, Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen, while Dele Alli and Davinson Sanchez survived.
It gave the others coming in a chance to show why they should be handed more minutes during the hectic Christmas schedule and Winks was among those who took it.
The academy graduate is not considered as athletic as 30-year-old Moussa Dembele or Eric Dier, 23, but his passing ability can add something to Spurs.
As the statistics for this season show, Winks averages the most passes per 90 minutes out of all three in the Premier League, and he creates twice as many chances as Dier.
He has the ability to put the ball into pockets of space on the pitch, which is what he did when Aurier ran forward down the right wing here.
Winks, although not as strong, has far superior passing ability than Mousa Dembele
The Englishman has come a long way since his debut for Spurs, more than three years ago
Since seeing off Real Madrid in this competition at Wembley, Tottenham have secured only a single victory in five Premier League outings – and that was a close 1-0 win over plucky Crystal Palace.
This was far more routine. Despite APOEL holding the home side off for the first 20 minutes, they got the job done in the first half. Tougher tests will await Tottenham in the Premier League.
For Winks, though, this can only have done him good as the composed midfielder got a feel for dominating in the middle third.
It is a little more than three years since Winks made his debut for Tottenham – coming on as an 87th minute substitute against Partizan.
He has come a long way since.
