A good Samaritan in Sydney’s inner west has been punched in the face after stepping in to help a neighbour who was being robbed.
Bonnie Prekop ran to assist Courtney Hunt, 29, Thursday afternoon, after the woman was confronted by two teens in the garage of their Lewisham apartment block.
But the 33-year-old was left with a nasty bruise for her efforts, after one of the alleged assailants struck her in the jaw.

Police said the incident took place around 5.30pm on Gould Street, when Ms Hunt was approached by two men, including one armed with a metal pole.
The offenders allegedly demanded money from the woman, who offered up her debit card before yelling for help.
Ms Prekop heard the cries and came running, pulling a handkerchief from one of the offenders faces before becoming locked in a ‘scuffle’ with one of them.
‘The young man that struck me was talking to himself under his breath, saying ‘I don’t hit woman,’… then he right-hooked me in the face,’ she told 9News.

The offenders, described as being of Pacific Islander appearance and aged between 13 and 17 years old, allegedly demanded money from the woman, who offered up her debit card before yelling for help
‘I saw stars … it definitely startled me and they took that opportunity to run off.’
The men reportedly fled towards Moreton Park following the incident and currently remain on the run.
The offenders are described as being of Pacific Islander appearance and aged between 13 and 17 years old.
Both men were dressed in dark clothing at the time of the attack and anyone with information about the men or the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
