University of Florida students celebrated their school winning a national championship in basketball on Monday night. But one person seemed to party a bit too hard.

The Gators won their third national title – and their first since 2007 – by defeating Houston 65-63 in San Antonio.

UF put on a watch party at their basketball arena, the O’Connell Center, to allow fans and students to watch the game.

Once the final buzzer sounded, fans and students on the school’s campus in Gainesville, Florida took to the streets to celebrate their accomplishment.

But for one Gators fan, the night might be a bit hard to remember after taking a very nasty fall.

The fan in question was seen on top of a street sign on what appeared to be the corner of West University Avenue and Buckman Drive

But one Florida fan was seen climbing a light pole – only to take a hard fall to the ground

After reaching the top, this fan began bouncing up and down on the traffic light pole.

However, as he tried moving his weight at the top, the traffic light gave way and the fan came crashing to the ground and smacked the pavement.

Thankfully for him, a group of police officers were already standing by (likely there to deal with him injury or not) and helped him get to help.

According to one bystander and an X account that re-posted the video, it appears the person who fell was okay. It’s unclear if he required any further medical attention.

It’s a similar situation to something that happened in Philadelphia for the NFC Championship game back in January when a fan fell from a pole in the city after the Eagles earned a Super Bowl berth.

Unfortunately, that student – 18-year-old Tyler Sabapathy of Temple University – was placed on life support and died after suffering a traumatic brain injury.

The teenager was a student at Temple’s College of Public Health, where he was majoring in exercise and sports science.

He was also an aspiring gymnast who won over 120 medals in various regional and international competitions.
