Swedish furniture store IKEA has been slammed on social media over its Passover Seder post… which didn’t include any traditional Jewish dishes.

Passover is a major Jewish holiday that celebrates the Jews’ freedom from slavery in ancient Egypt.

It is usually marked by a family meal called a Seder, which often includes symbolic foods, wine, and a storytelling of the Exodus.

The Seder plate includes six fundamental components including, lamb’s shankbone, a roasted egg, a paste of fruit and nuts, a bitter herb, a green vegetable, and a bowl of salt water, per Food Network.

Last week, IKEA posted an image wishing its followers a ‘joyous Passover filled with love, family, and delicious memories.’

The company shared a snap of a table of food that included a blueberry pie and a bowl of whipped cream, along with some water and coffee.

However, the post didn’t resonate with Jews as the company had hoped, as many were quick to call out the lack of Seder foods.

Instagram users ran to the comments to discuss the ’embarrassing’ image.

‘How hard would it have been to consult a Jewish person for this? Or hell, Chat GPT could have figured it out,’ one user said.

Someone else wrote: ‘Nothing says “we know Jewish holidays” like using the exact kind of food we don’t eat on this specific holiday in your post!’

‘Ah yes, I love that part of the story, when the Hebrews waited for their pies to bake before leaving Egypt,’ another user joked.

Ben Platt’s brother, actor Jonah Platt, even got involved, writing, ‘This has literally nothing to do with Passover. Is there not a single Jew working at IKEA?’

‘IKEA you could have literally just googled Passover first,’ a different comment read.

One user simply wrote: ‘Yikes.’

Another commenter questioned: ‘Really? No Jews to consult with for this post?’

‘Y’all couldn’t be bothered to do a basic Google search, I see. How hard is it to throw a piece of matzah on a damn plate? Or post a pic of WINE GLASSES?’ someone else argued.

Another joked: ‘Ah yes, Passover Blueberry Pie.’

‘Seriously this is either embarrassing for you, or deliberately wrong,’ a person commented.

‘You’ve got to be kidding me @ikeausa this is absurd,’ someone else said.
