Oscar Piastri won the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix and usurped Lando Norris as the new championship leader after a dominant drive in Jeddah.

Piastri took the chequered flag ahead of Max Verstappen after the world champion was hit with a five-second time penalty for cutting the chicane at the first corner.

Norris lined up 10th on the grid after a costly crash in Q3 yesterday but delivered a resurgent performance to finish fourth, behind Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc.

George Russell and Kimi Antonelli came fifth and sixth respectively while Lewis Hamilton, still fighting to get to grips with his Ferrari, settled for seventh.

Williams secured a double points finish as Carlos Sainz took eight and Alex Albon came home in ninth, and Isack Hadjar added to his tally in 10th.
