The ex-Democrat staffer who was sensationally fired for filming himself having sex in the Senate hearing room has spoken out about his post-scandal life.

Aidan Maese-Czeropski was just 24 when he was let go by Maryland Senator Ben Cardin, less than a day after the lewd video was exposed in 2023.

Maese-Czeropski has now moved to Australia and launched an OnlyFans in the 16 months since and was interviewed for the first time since his termination by the Gay Sydney News.

‘I got some flack…people were like, ‘OK, he’s washed up…’ But it’s also about my mental health. I just needed time to process the scandal.’

He would only say he was ‘allegedly known for’ having sex in the Senate hearing room but discussed his frail mental state since the incident.

‘Mentally, I spent a little bit in the psych ward after the fact because it was just… it’s overwhelming to realize and to know that tens of millions of people literally despise you,’ Maese-Czeropski, who infamously became known as the ‘Senate twink,’ said.

He also claimed to have gotten post-traumatic stress disorder and was unable to live in Washington any longer.

‘Everyone in DC knew me, and it was kind of gross and horrifying because I’m not someone who likes to be in the public spotlight at all,’ he said.

He said that he now makes more and lives a happier life than he ever did walking the corridors of American power.

‘I think that one of the reasons why the scandal wasn’t as traumatic as it could’ve been is because I was very depressed working in government,’ he said. ‘I hated my life, I hated my job, the pay was s***.’

The former staffer had initially fled to South Africa following the controversy but met a New Zealander there who convinced him to permanently relocate to Sydney.

‘I love it here and I’m glad that I took that jump, took that risk… It is the greatest city in the world,’ he said.

Ultimately, Maese-Czeropski appears to only have one real regret about the entire incident.

‘I got all these death threats, hatred. And the guy who was the top didn’t,’ he quipped.

He says even embraces his status as the ‘Senate twink’ in public and is even now his Instagram handle: ‘It’s a good conversation starter.’

The aide, who appeared in a 2020 campaign video with Joe Biden, sparked backlash as he released his own statement on LinkedIn in the wake of the video leaking, alleging that he is being ‘attacked for who I love to pursue a political agenda.’

‘While some of my actions in the past have shown poor judgement, I love my job and would never disrespect my workplace,’ he said.

‘Any attempts to characterize my actions otherwise are fabricated and I will be exploring what legal options are available to me in these matters.’

Maese-Czeropski’s mother Magdalena Rivera Maese told DailyMail.com at the time her son had been left distraught by what had happened, saying: ‘You don’t want to know how he’s doing.’

Footage of the fling, first exposed by the Daily Caller, shows a young looking male staffer bent over a conference room in the Hart Senate Office Building.

Another man stands behind him, filming the sex act they’re performing in X-rated detail.

The staffer is seen in a separate picture naked on a table where Senators often sit and ask questions during hearings.

The footage was allegedly shared in a private group for gay men in the political scene, and reportedly appeared on a since-deleted account on X.

Its owner identifies himself s a ‘twink’ (young, smooth-bodied gay man) engaging in sex acts with his older ‘bear’ partner.

According to his LinkedIn, Maese-Czeropski had worked in Cardin’s office since October 2021, and previously worked as a field organizer for the Democratic Party in Virginia and as a climate researcher for charity Friends of the Earth.

Cardin retired following the 2024 election.

The aide once appeared in a campaign video for President Biden in a ‘thank you’ message days after he won the 2020 election, briefly speaking with Biden in the montage clip.

A woman claiming to be his mother thanked the newly-elected President on X after seeing her son in the promo, saying her son has ‘worked tirelessly with the DNC of Virginia – congratulations to all!’

Maese-Czeropski allegedly caused a separate incident just days before the explicit videos surfaced, as Ohio Republican Congressman Max Miller accused him of confronting him over his support for Israel.

Miller claimed to the Washington Free Beacon that Maese-Czeropski marched towards him outside a coffee shop in the Cannon House Office Building on Wednesday, as he was mid-interview with NBC News’ Ali Vitali.

Miller said the aide was ‘visibly shaking’ as he made a beeline towards him, feeling the staffer was ‘very upset in my presence because he’s a snowflake.’

‘And he just comes right back up to me and was like, ‘Free Palestine”, Miller said.

‘And I was like, ‘okay’…  I’m not going to give him a reaction because that’s what he wants.’

Miller claimed that Vitali was stunned at the exchange and branded it ‘blatant antisemitism.’

Vitali didn’t go as far in her own remarks on the incident, saying on X: ‘A House staffer just passed by GOP Rep. Max Miller —who is Jewish and has been supportive of sending aide to Israel— and said “free Palestine.”

‘Pretty rare and stunning to see staff challenge members to their faces this way.’

The aide denied the allegations in his statement to LinkedIn, claiming he has ‘never seen the congressman and had no opportunity or cause to yell or confront him.’
