Thousands of Commonwealth Bank customers have been locked out of their accounts.

The outrage affects customers trying to access the bank’s app with thousands of reports lodged to Down Detector.

The bank says it’s working to resolve the issue.

‘We are aware there are intermittent issues with accessing NetBank and the CommBank app,’ the CBA said

‘Other services including ATMs, online and in person payments, including tap and pay, are working.

‘Our teams are urgently working to fix this issue.

‘We are very sorry for the inconvenience. Thanks for your patience.’

Customers took to social media to share their frustrations.

‘What’s wrong with your app today, (Commonwealth Bank)? [I] can’t log in since hours ago,’ one wrote on X.

‘After you put in your pin it just sits there,’ another said.

‘(Commonwealth Bank), I need to pay for my food but your app is not working … I’m standing here for 30 minutes trying,’ a third added.

‘Excuse you? Netbank is not working… I cannot log in,’ another fumed.

‘How many times have you let customers down recently? Absolutely deplorable.’
