Ruben Amorim believes ‘every player wants to play for Manchester United’ as he lines up his summer transfer targets – but is remaining tight-lipped over a £62.5million deal for Matheus Cunha.

Mail Sport revealed this week that United are close to agreeing terms with Cunha before activating his release clause at Wolves.

Ipswich striker Liam Delap is also high on United’s list and Amorim doesn’t believe the club’s struggles this season will deter new signings from moving to Old Trafford.

‘It’s Manchester United,’ he said. ‘What I feel is that there’s a lot of players that want to play for our club.

‘I know that if you look at our club in the moment – with all the problems with the staff, people going, changing coach, the results – it looks like a little bit of a problem. But we have a clear idea.

‘That is the easiest part to explain to a player. And then it’s Manchester United. Everybody wants to play for Manchester United.’

Asked if one of those players will be Cunha, Amorim replied: ‘I will not say anything about Matheus, because if I say one time I will have to say for any situation that is yes or no.

‘So I will not comment about that. It’s hard to predict what is going to happen in the future.’

Amorim said that he will make a decision about the three United players out on loan – Marcus Rashford, Antony and Tyrell Malacia – at the end of the season.

‘All these players have talent,’ he added. ‘We are really happy because if you put one player on loan, the best thing for us is for them to perform – and they are performing.’

Amorim has a good idea about which of the current squad will leave this summer, but insists there is still time for them to change his mind.

‘Everything can happen. Casemiro is the best example. He wasn’t playing and then you see the last games he’s performing quite well, he’s playing all the time. If they change my mind, I like that.’

United go to Bournemouth tomorrow (sun) looking to climb up the table from 14th place and avoid injuries ahead of Thursday’s Europa League semi-final first leg away to Athletic Bilbao.

Amorim revealed that Diogo Dalot, who has missed just one game this season through suspension, may not play again before the end of the campaign due to a calf muscle strain.
