An Aussie TV star stunned her fans on Tuesday after sharing shock footage of her almost falling off a horse while riding through the New South Wales bushland.

Chris Hemsworth’s wife Elsa Pataky, 48, shared footage to social media which captured her and daughter India, 12, riding on horseback.

The pair were initially in control of their steeds and gracefully steered them through the trees – but they encountered an unexpected challenge traversing shallow waters.

Struggling momentarily to control her charger through a small lake, Elsa teetered dangerously on the brink of a spill.

Fortunately, the Tidelands star managed to regain her balance at the last second and captured the heart-stopping moment on film.

‘Lol! Riding or snorkelling?’ Elsa playfully captioned the footage, showcasing her trademark humour.

Elsa has long been passionate about horse riding and has instilled a love for it in her daughter.

In 2023, Elsa was announced as the Magic Millions Global Ambassador for Showjumping by The Pacific Fair Magic Millions Polo & Showjumping.

The actress lives in New South Wales with her Marvel star husband Chris Hemsworth and their three children, India Rose, and twin sons Tristan and Sasha, 11.

She is regularly spotted at jumping competitions alongside India, as the youngster is an accomplished rider.

The family reside in a $30million mansion in Broken Head, near the celebrity enclave of Byron Bay.

The fortress-like property, which sits high above Seven Mile Beach, boasts a gymnasium, butler’s pantry, fire pit, change rooms, and outdoor play area.

Elsa previously said that the family decided to move to Australia for a quieter, more laid-back lifestyle.

‘We did the move three years ago and I’m so happy with it,’ she told Perth Now in 2017.

‘In Byron we just feel like locals. People really respect us…

‘It’s what I always dreamt of giving to my kids.’

She discussed her love of horse riding in an interview with Women’s Health in March 2021, saying the activity kept her sane during Covid.

‘When we were in lockdown, I could still ride, so it was [all about] my family, my husband and my horses,’ she said.

‘It’s such a passion, kind of like meditation for me. I think it’s important for your mind to have something you enjoy – a hobby that’s just for you.’
