A dog trainer has provided a health update on Lewis Hamilton dog Roscoe after the Formula One star’s pet was reported as being ill with pneumonia earlier this month.

Hamilton has an extremely close relationship with his beloved French bulldog, who he adopted back in 2013.

He is often seen taking pictures with his pet pooch, who he also frequently flies to races around the globe and takes for walks in the paddock on race weekends.

Hamilton suffered the personal setback amid a mixed start to his time at Ferrari when news broke of his beloved hound’s illness on April 16.

Despite winning his maiden race for the Prancing Horse during the sprint in China, the Brit has otherwise struggled for consistency.

Now, Roscoe’s trainer Kirstin McMillan has shared another update as she took to Instagram.

She wrote: ‘Hi guys! For those asking: Roscoe is nearly fully recovered.

‘Haven’t been posting our silly adventures (because) he’s been (with) his dad, so his dad will be the one (with) the updates guys.

‘Just know he’s been looking well and recovering really nicely thankfully’.

That came after her previous health update on Roscoe in which she broke the news to her followers just under two weeks ago.

Posting to Instagram, she said: ‘Roscoe, because I know you are going to ask, he is going to his vet today.

‘This is a vet that practises veterinary medicine where she combines Eastern and Western, that’s an intergrative pet practice.

‘So she’s a real vet, she went to Davis and everything, but she went for a few years of additional training in holistic methods, Chinese medicine, accupuncture and things like that.

‘What she is going to do with him today is a high-dose Vitamin C IV drop and this is supportive care.

‘This is in addition to the strong antibiotics that he is correctly on for his pneumonia. And she’ll do acupuncture on him. So this supports him.’
