Canal+ says business has been boosted by box office hits including the latest Paddington and Bridget Jones films.

The French production company, which was spun out of Vivendi in December when it listed on the stock market in London, said first-quarter revenues rose 1.5 per cent to £1.3billion.

Its film studios arm saw revenues rise 8.2 per cent thanks to the release of films including Paddington In Peru, Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy and We Live In Time.

Canal+ shares edged up 0.5 per cent. But they remain down nearly 24 per cent since listing in London at 290p each in December.

Boss Maxime Saada hailed ‘a pivotal year’ in 2024 and said ‘we continued to build on this momentum’ in 2025.

He added: ‘A number of highly successful theatrical releases substantially fuelled revenue.’
