Christie let her blonde locks flow beneath her shoulders as she posed for photos at the event before sitting down for an interview with Fern Mallis.

The model’s new memoir is the third book she has released, after her 1983 fitness book and the later Timeless Beauty.

Christie hopes readers can take something positive away from her experiences, which she details in her memoir.

‘I just really hope people understand that the book is much more than rehashing divorces,’ she explained.

‘This is not a revenge novel It’s filled with joy and when there are bad moments, it’s sort of how to keep going and learn not to let them pull you down.

‘And how to stay positive and maybe learn something from it or let it propel you into someplace that you didn’t dare go before’.

Christie has fallen for some famous men over the years – and been divorced four times.

Her previous husbands include Jean-Francois Allaux, Richard Taubman and Peter Cook.

But undoubtedly her most famous spouse is singer Billy Joel, who she married in 1985 before divorcing in 1994.

Famously, Billy cast Christie for his famous 1983 music video for Uptown Girl which, of course, inspired the name for the model’s new memoir.

And in the book, Christie gave an insight into the couple’s divorce, revealing that Billy’s battle with substance abuse ultimately led to their split.

‘To be clear,’ she wrote in the book, per an excerpt from People, ‘I never wanted to end things with Billy. But his drinking was bigger than the both of us.’

Reflecting on the breakup, she added: ‘In the end, when the relationship isn’t functioning the way you want it to be anymore — that’s the worst kind of loneliness because you just can’t make it work together and that’s painful.’

Joel has spoken openly about his struggles with alcohol, having entered rehab twice—first in 2002 and again in 2005.

In 2023, Joel told the Los Angeles Times that he stopped drinking ‘a couple of years ago.’
