She’s graced the cover of countless magazines, strutted the catwalks of Paris and Milan, and built a global wellness empire – but now Elle Macpherson has revealed the one interview question she’s never been asked in her 40-year career.

In an interview with Stellar magazine this week, the Australian supermodel, 60, revealed the surprising topic that she has never been questioned about.

Asked by former model Jodhi Meares if there’s a question she’s long wished someone would pose, Elle didn’t hesitate.

‘Nobody has ever asked me if I’ve ever felt lonely and helpless – which I have, from time to time,’ she responded candidly.

The WelleCo founder explained that such moments often arrive when life is quietly nudging us to look inward.

‘I believe we consciously or unconsciously create such moments so we can contemplate something that’s awaiting our attention,’ she said, adding that it’s during these times that reconnecting with nature has helped her reset and return to herself.

The raw admission offered a glimpse into the emotional resilience of a woman often labelled ‘The Body’ – a nickname born during the height of her modelling fame in the 1980s and 90s.

Throughout the interview, Elle also reflected on her journey from self-doubt to global stardom, revealing she once wished she looked like someone else.

But she decided to embrace her athletic build and Aussie spirit and it become a turning point.

She explained that it wasn’t until she stopped trying to be ‘that other girl’ and instead leaned into her tall, sporty frame and ‘Amazonian courageousness’ that her career truly took off.

She credited that shift in mindset for launching her into international success.

‘I learnt pretty quickly that our uniqueness is our true superpower,’ Elle said.

‘We’re all here to express our unique inner beauty into this world – that’s where the magic happens.’

Despite decades in the public eye, Elle appears more grounded than ever – a trait she says comes from her ability to hit the reset button when life becomes overwhelming.

Sharing a parenting hack from when her sons were younger, she revealed that she’d ‘re-start’ their day by pretending to put them back to bed so they could wake up again with a new attitude.

And she has her own go-to methods for regaining calm amid chaos – from breathwork taught to her by partner Doyle Bramhall II to dancing, cooking and gardening.

‘I can reset quickly with three breaths,’ she said.

‘I’ve tried lots of ways to rebalance – listening to music, doing a crazy dance, immersing myself in a nurturing activity like cooking or having a bath.’

The interview also teases her return to fashion in The Upside’s new campaign, a nod to her long-standing presence in both the style and wellness worlds.
