Four teenagers have been arrested over the stabbing of a teen girl on a Melbourne train on Monday night.

Emergency services were called to attend a 16-year-old girl suffering from stab wounds at Batman Railway Station in the northern suburb of Coburg North shortly before 9.00pm.

Four teens, aged between 14 and 16, were arrested a short distance away.

A 15-year-old girl was charged with armed robbery, intentionally cause injury, use controlled weapon and assault with a weapon and has been bailed.

The other three – a 14-year-old girl, a 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy –  have been released but are also expected to be charged.

The incident comes just a day after a woman, 29, was attacked with a machete while filling up petrol at a BP service station on the Princes Highway near Potter Street in the outer eastern suburb of Dandenong.

As the woman returned to her car from paying in the store, three men approached her and tried to steal her keys.

It’s understood one of the men initially demanded the keys before attempting to snatch them.
