‘You face every hurdle head on, take it in your stride and inspire us,’ he gushed in praise of his sibling.

Robert included a photo of himself posing with Bindi in their trademark Australia Zoo uniforms.

Followers posted messages of support to Bindi on Robert’s post.

‘She’s so strong and an amazing role model for women!!’ wrote one fan.

Another follower commented: ‘I’m so happy that you’re doing okay! You’re such an Inspiration to girls/ women.’

‘Really glad to see you healing Bindi,’ added a third fan.

It comes after Robert told People magazine that soon after the emergency Bindi was recovering in the hospital with their mother Terri by her side.

‘She’s going to be okay, but surgery – out of all the things we were ready for, that was not one of them,’ Robert explained.

Robert explained that Bindi had been suffering some pain in the lead up to the gala but had tried to soldier on.

‘She’s going to be okay, but surgery – out of all the things we were ready for, that was not one of them,’ Robert explained.

‘She came to Las Vegas and was ready to put on a brave face. She said, “I’m just going to tough it out.”

‘But the surgeon told her, “Your appendix is going. It’s got to come out.”‘

Robert, meanwhile, was able to attend the gala on behalf of his family, with the annual event staged to raise money for their organisation Wildlife Warriors.

Funds raised from the gala support Wildlife Warriors, the conservation charity Steve and Terri founded in 2002.

Steve died in 2006 after being struck by a stingray while filming on the Great Barrier Reef.
