A sex offender who was feared to be stalking female doctors after leaving a compound which housed some of Australia’s most notorious paedophiles is finally off the streets.
The 40-year-old man slipped away from supervision at Corella Place on the outskirts of Ararat in south-west Victoria, a facility nicknamed the ‘Village of the Damned’, and was on the run for a week.
Authorities tracked down the convicted rapist after it emerged the man had repeatedly travelled to Melbourne demanding to see only woman doctors at clinics since August.

Authorities were quick to track down the convicted rapist after it emerged the man had repeatedly travelled to Melbourne demanding to see only woman doctors at clinics since August
The man – who cannot be identified for legal reasons – has since returned to Corella Place after revelations of his offences were splashed on the Herald Sun’s front page.
The man has a history of raping, stalking and assaulting women, according to the Herald Sun.
He was convicted on two counts of rape in 2008 after sexually assaulting his housemate’s partner.
He was also convicted of assault in 1995 and has a background of violent crimes, stalking and breaching intervention orders.
The convicted criminals live in modern one, two and three bedroom cottages, complete with their own kitchens

Victoria Police and the Australian Medical Association warned people after several female doctors found themselves in ‘dangerous and unacceptable situations’.
Orders demand that the man is accompanied by a supervisor when seeing female doctors but it is alleged he showed up without a supervisor to at least one consultation.
The man suffers from several different medical conditions, including diabete, the publication reports.

They are court ordered to be there for a period of time, which can be extended if they are still thought to be a threat to the community

Convicted paedophiles and sex offenders are sent there where they live freely but are monitored with GPS ankle bracelets.
In August, AMA Victoria sent out a short alert to members warning them of the man’s behaviour.
‘The male usually rings and says: ‘Dr X has seen me in the past and can I make another appointment to see her,’ the warning read.
‘This is a serious issue. Female GPs are being exposed to dangerous and unacceptable situations in their workplaces.’
The residents are also able to claim Centrelink payments given they have completed their prison sentences
