A woman was left fighting for her life after being struck by a cyclist this weekend.
The 67-year-old woman was walking under the Nathan Street Bridge in Townsville, Queensland, on Saturday when she was hit by the bicycle rider.
She fell and smacked her head on a concrete path at about 6.30am, fracturing her skull and leaving her with a bleed on the brain.

But the cyclists was not arrested as police are yet to ‘determine who was at fault’.
A Queensland Police spokesperson declined to say if the bike rider was tested for drugs and alcohol.
‘The victim has undergone surgery for a fractured skull and bleeding on the brain,’ Queensland Police’s Senior Sergeant Joe Matheson told the Townsville Bulletin.
‘She is in a serious but stable condition.’
The woman was tended to by passers-by until paramedics arrived.
Her friend was treated for shock at the scene.
Police described the incident as ‘tragic’ and it is not clear whether the 56-year-old male cyclist was arrested.
