In a rare move hardly seen among Hollywood’s secretive elite, Kylie Jenner shed some light on the plastic surgery she’s had done after a fan expressed her desire to recreate the makeup mogul’s boob job.

While the reality TV star’s honest admission was praised by both fans and critics alike, Kylie sharing the exact details of her breast augmentation surgery may actually cause more harm than good.

Speaking exclusively to the Daily Mail Dr Darren Smith, a board-certified plastic surgeon in New York City, warned that women who wish to undergo the same surgery as Kylie may face disastrous consequences, including deformities and the dreaded ‘uniboob’.

On Monday, TikTok user Rachel Leary uploaded a video of herself urging Kylie to share exactly what she ‘asked for’ when getting her boobs done, hailing her enhancement as ‘the most perfect, natural boob job ever!’

She described Kylie’s chest as ‘perfection’ and captioned her post: ‘Help a girl out @Kylie Jenner, I just want to know how to get them to sit like that, respectfully.’

And while Rachel admitted that she never expected Kylie to see her TikTok yet alone respond, she was left stunned when The Kardashians star replied to her video.

An ecstatic Rachel replied: ‘KYLIEEEEE!!! you are the best THANK YOU!!!!’, while other fans were quick to applaud Kylie for helping out.

However, by revealing the size and profile of her implants, which are specifically tailored to fit Kylie’s unique frame, Dr Smith shared his fears that this will drive other young women to ask for the so-called Kylie special, rather than what is right for their body.

‘The implant that is right for Kylie is almost definitely not right for another person, because these things are so highly individualized,’ he told the Daily Mail.

‘When Kylie says, ‘I got 445 cc,’ while she’s giving you very exact information, that implant on her will look completely different on you.’

Still, Dr Smith suggested that starting out with a photo of Kylie as inspiration for a potential breast augmentation is not a bad place to start.

‘While we can start with a photo of Kylie, I call them ‘wish pictures,’ it bears absolutely no influence on the outcome,’ he said.

‘I tell my patients, ‘You like that look, so now let’s figure out what we can do with your body to get you there,’ and looking at more than one person is helpful.’

While a patient may want the same results as Kylie’s boob job, Dr Smith says there are several steps a patient should undergo with their doctor before achieving a similar look.

First, he asks patients about their lifestyle, such as whether they work out in the gym every day. ‘If they’re super active, maybe they wouldn’t be happy with super large implants,’ he says.

Then, Dr Smith uses tools like Vectra 3D imaging, which allows him to make a 3D model of the patient, to decide what implant size and height is right for them.

The plastic surgeon emphasized the many risks that could occur if a breast implant isn’t tailored to the patient’s specific anatomy.

‘It could be a disaster,’ Dr Smith said, citing implant malposition as a major side effect of boob jobs gone wrong.

If a breast implant is too big, it can split below the fold of the breast forming something known as ‘double bubble deformity’. This creates the appearance of a distinct bulge or bubble directly beneath the breast, and must be corrected with another surgery.

Symmastia could also occur if a patient were to get Kylie’s specific breast implant  rather than one customized to their body.

The condition, more commonly known as ‘uniboob,’ happens when an oversized implant is placed towards the center of the chest with little or no cleavage between the two breasts.

Despite the potential risks involved, Kylie’s transparency about her boob job has seemingly marked a shift in celebrity plastic surgery.

While A-listers have often kept the details of their noticeable transformations a secret from the public, or have just flat out denied any plastic surgery at all, now they may be more inclined to share the work they have had done with their fans.

In turn, this may help deter those who have never had any cosmetic surgery from feeling like there is something wrong with their body for not looking exactly like their favorite actress or model.

Kylie’s admission comes after years of denying that she has ever had any major plastic surgery, except for fillers, with the reality star repeatedly shutting down speculation that she had undergone a breast augmentation.

There was speculation Kylie had got her breasts done in 2015 when she was just 18, though she later denied it on her app.

‘I wanted to make a change. But no, people – I haven’t gotten breast implants! Everyone is obsessed with that,’ she said.

‘Truth is, as I’ve gotten older, I’ve gained 15 pounds and my body has changed. I’ve definitely filled out.’

Then in 2016, she seemed to blame her period when she posted a photo of herself looking more voluptuous than usual. ‘TMI but it’s that time of the month LOL,’ she tweeted at the time.

Fans also speculated that she got a boob job when she shared a photo of her chest in June 2017 with the word ‘Finally’ written over one of her breasts.

After her daughter Stormi Webster was born in 2018, Kylie acknowledged her body was different but never said she had surgery.

‘My boobs are definitely three times the size, which bothers me. I have stretch marks on my boobs,’ she wrote in a comment. ‘My stomach isn’t the same, my waist isn’t the same, my butt’s bigger, my thighs [are] bigger.’

Finally, after years of crediting her bust to padded bras, her period, or weight gain, Kylie revealed she had gone under the knife during a 2023 episode of Hulu’s The Kardashians.

The Kylie Cosmetics founder explained she had the breast augmentation surgery when she was still a teenager and before welcoming her daughter Stormi, who is now seven.

During the season three finale, the mom-of-two voiced regret over her decision.

‘I got my breasts done before Stormi,’ Kylie said. ‘Within six months of having Stormi – not thinking I would have a child when I was 20 – they were still healing.’

She added, ‘I had beautiful breasts, like natural t*ts, just gorgeous, like perfect size, perfect everything, and I just wished, obviously, I never got them done to begin with.’

‘I would recommend anyone who was thinking about it to wait until after you have children,’ she added, before revealing how her views on plastic surgery have changed now that she’s a mother.

‘But yeah obviously I have a daughter too. I would be heartbroken if she wanted to get her body done at 19,’ Kylie admitted.

‘I mean, she’s the most beautiful thing ever. I want to be, like, the best mom and the best example for her and I just wish I could, like, be her and do it all differently, because I wouldn’t touch anything.’
