A pilot has walked away uninjured after their light plane has slammed into a field on the Gold Coast.

Emergency services were called to the scene near Finglas Road in Woongoolba, in the Gold Coast, around 9am on Friday.

The plane’s pilot, a 39-year-old female, was the only person onboard the aircraft at the time of the crash and did not sustain any injuries.

A police spokesman said the pilot was able to make a controlled landing after realising she was in danger.

‘Initial information indicates that around 9.10am, a light plane completed a controlled landing into canfields north of the airfield after failing to take-off,’ they said.

Paramedics assessed the woman and confirmed she did not need further medical assessment or hospital treatment.

The incident has been referred to the Civil Aviation Safety Authority for further investigation.
