A mother shopping for baby formula in a supermarket has spotted a couple she claims were ‘hiding’ tubs of powder.

A video of the incident, filmed at a Perth Coles, surfaced on Facebook on Tuesday.

It was uploaded with the caption: ‘When you can’t get formula for your children here is why Perth… you can clearly see them trying to hide it too.

With her phone out she begins to record a man and a woman who appear to be putting baby formula in a basket.

Australian customers who need the product have taken to social media saying they can’t get milk formula for their babies because of the shoppers stocking up and selling it off shore.

In September 7 News revealed a backyard warehouse in Sydney full of pallets of baby formula tins ready to be sent to China’s black market known as ‘daigous’.

The demand for Australian baby milk formula is high in China because it is believed to be of higher quality.

Many major supermarkets have been forced to set a limit per customer.
