Rex Newmark was nearly four times over the limit when he was caught speeding
A former Big Brother contestant has been hauled back into court for drink-driving just a month after he admitted attacking his girlfriend in a booze-fuelled assault.
Rex Newmark, 33, was nearly four times over the limit when he drove his Range Rover over the speed limit in Gordon House Road, Camden, north-west London.
Police pulled him over at 11.55am in Gospel Oak, less than a mile from where he lives, the court heard.
Newmark finished fourth in Big Brother 9, losing out to 2008 winner Rachel Rice.
He was last in court on 25 October for punching and slapping girlfriend Emma Blackman at Beach Blanket Babylon restaurant in Shoreditch, east London, where he works as an executive chef.
Newmark locked Ms Blackman’s head in his legs as he punched her stomach, slapping and shoving her on 14 April, before a member of the public called police.

His barrister said both were drunk at the time, and his girlfriend insisted the attack was ‘out of character’. She did not make a statement to the police.
Newmark admitted assault by beating and was handed a £485 fine and a 100-hour unpaid work order.

Exactly a month later, on 25 November, he was pulled over by police because of his speeding in Camden.
He was found to be driving with 102 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when the limit is 35 micrograms.
Newmark, of Tremlett Mews, Islington, admitted drink driving at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court and was fined £1,455. He was also disqualified from driving for 25 months.
