An anonymous donor has paid off all the items on layaway at a Pennsylvania Walmart, giving 200 families a holiday gift.
WJAC-TV reports that staff members at the Everett store say this is the second year in a row that the anonymous donor has made such a gift.
Store veteran Barbara Karns says she’s never seen generosity and humility on this scale before.

‘In this area you don’t hear a lot, I mean you hear small things where somebody pays somebody’s grocery bill or things like that but this was pretty big,’ Karns said.
The Walmart staff has been making calls to families with the news, letting them know their Christmas gifts on layaway are paid off.
Kristen Martin told WJAC-TV that the generous gift has made all the difference for her family this year, who can now enjoy the holiday without any of the financial concerns.

‘Bills were really high for December. I had like an $800 water bill, so it’s just like, “Well I’m gonna go and put stuff on layaway and hope for the best,”’ she said.
‘I think it means more to me, but I think they’ll be happy. I remember when I was growing up for Christmas. I was just telling my mom the other day that I want my kids to have Christmas like that,’ she added tearfully.
Nobody knows who the secret donor is, not even the Walmart staff. They just call him ‘Santa B.’
In total, the staff says the donor paid a total of $40,000.
Last year, ‘Santa B’ paid off layaway gifts at the same Everett store, dishing out more than $46,000 to lucky families, according to CNN.
Layaway refers to a purchasing scheme where individuals can place items on hold and pay them off over a certain amount of time.
A Secret Santa in the area had also paid off layaway mites at two Harrisonburg stores in 2015 and at a Mechanicsville location in 2014, CNN reported.
