A bride had to ‘walk’ down the aisle in a wheelchair after breaking her leg and ankle playing zorb football on her hen party.
Rebecca Blount, 24, played a game of footie with 12 friends a week before her wedding day.
But just before the end of the session, Rebecca fell and was left in agony as she broke three bones in her ankle and one in her leg.
The bride-to-be needed surgery and was unable to walk down the aisle – instead she was pushed to greet her husband-to-be in a wheelchair.

Rebecca, from Codsall in Staffordshire, says that despite the pain she was in, her wedding day was still one of the happiest of her life.
The admin worker says: ‘I was so excited for the hen weekend and had spent ages planning it.
‘We were due to do cocktail making in the evening and have a big night out. But before that, I decided to do something different and so booked us in for zorbing.
‘Three women in my party decided to sit it out, but I got stuck in. It was so fun and towards the end we decided to play football.
‘But only a few minutes before we were due to finish, I went to kick the ball and fell. I felt my leg twist and I hit the floor in absolute agony. I started screaming.’
An ambulance was called to the Powerleague pitch in Gateshead, but took an hour-and-a-half to arrive while Rebecca was left in searing pain on the ground.

She said: ‘I was freezing on the floor and everyone was placing their coats on top of me to try and warm me up. I was in so much pain with my leg and was panicking.’
The mother-of-one says: ‘I told everyone to go out as normal, I wanted them to enjoy themselves.
‘They stuck a picture of me on a blow up doll and took that out with them!
‘In A&E I had an X-ray where they found I had broken three bones in my ankle and one in my leg. I was told I needed an operation and couldn’t believe it.’
Two days later, Rebecca’s husband-to-be Jake Blount, 26, drove to hospital to be with Rebecca during her operation.
She says: ‘He was so supportive. The accident happened on the Friday and I went in for surgery on the Sunday.
‘They had to insert pins and screws to hold my bones together. I was allowed home on the Tuesday and was still in a lot of pain.

‘We considered postponing the wedding but we’d been planning it for a year and I didn’t want to let everyone down.’

She says: ‘I was in a lot of pain and was on morphine but I was determined to enjoy my day.
‘I had to be wheeled down the aisle in a wheelchair as it was too hard for me to walk on my crutches.
‘But as soon as I saw Jake at the end, I couldn’t stop smiling.
‘My dress made me very uncomfortable so I decided to get changed before we went to the reception venue.
‘I really wanted to do my first dance in my dress but it was just too hard. My guests tried to hide my crutches in the pictures but you can still see them.’
