The Simpsons has shown off its amazing ability to predict the future once again.
An episode from almost 20 years ago predicted that Walt Disney Co. took over 21st Century Fox Inc.
The November 8, 1998 episode titled ‘When You Dish Upon a Star’ of the show accurately predicted that one day Disney would take over Fox.
The episode features director Ron Howard coming to pitch to producer Brian Glazer on an idea. The scene then takes place at the Fox studio lot, where a sign reveals that the company is now ‘A Division of Walt Disney Co.’
And on Thursday that statement became a reality after it was announced Disney agreed to take control of 21st Century Fox Inc. in a deal worth a whopping $52.4billion.

The huge deal will see Disney take control of Fox’s TV channels and film studios while giving them the rights to many of their films and television series, including The Simpsons.
Over the popular animated television series 29-year run, The Simpsons have accurately predicted several historical events including the fact that Donald Trump would become president of the United States
Back in 2000, the show made that prediction during the ‘Bart to the Future’ episode.
Trump was later referenced in another clip called ‘Trumptastic Voyage.’
This isn’t the first time the show has predicted history. An episode dating back to 2000 predicted a future Trump presidency. The Donald is pictured above in a clip made after his campaign launch this year
Last year, the iconic cartoon’s creator, Matt Groening, said: ‘Trump was of course the most absurd placeholder joke name that we could think of at the time, and that’s still true. It’s beyond satire.’
Dan Greaney, a writer for the Simpsons, also told The Hollywood Reporter that the clip had a dark message behind it.
He said: ‘It was a warning to America. That just seemed like the logical last stop before hitting bottom.
‘It was pitched because it was consistent with the vision of America going insane.’
The cartoon foretold a Trump presidency in a surreal episode where Bart is given a window into the future – and found a country brought to its knees by financial mismanagement and a crime wave ushered in by Trump.
The Ebola crisis, the FIFA soccer scandal (above) and the discovery of the Higgs-Boson particle events have all been predicted during episodes of The Simpsons
The episode’s alternate universe reveals that Trump, who will be 84 in 2030, left the country in an impossible amount of debt, and reliant on foreign aid from Europe and China.
In the episode’s vision of the future, America is also at the mercy of an army of genetically-enhanced thugs, brought about by Trump programs designed to help the nation’s youth which dramatically backfired.
The only person who can save the shattered United States is none other than the newly-elected President Lisa Simpson.
The Simpsons have also eerily predicted the Arab Spring, the Ebola crisis, the FIFA soccer scandal, Greece’s economic crisis and the discovery of the Higgs-Boson particle.
The show has also predicted Siegfried and Roy’s tiger attack, Lady Gaga’s Super Bowl performance and MIT’s Bengt Holmström winning the Nobel Prize for Economics in 2016.
